Beachbody Ultimate Reset Week 1 Vegan Breakfast Recipes

So as you know I did the Beachbody Ultimate Reset back in January and posted my favorite recipes for the week! Well the meal plan has changed and AMAZING!!!!!! So I have been getting asked about the Reset Recipes!

Coconut QuinoaCoconut Quinoa, Vegan, Breakfast, Ultimate Reset Recipes, Vegan Recipes

  • 3/4 cups cooked Quinoa
  • 2 tbsp. of coconut milk, warmed
  • 1 tsp. pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup fresh pineapple chunks
  • 1 tbsp chopped raw nuts

Combine Quionoa, coconut milk, and pure maple syrup in bowl and mixed well- top with pineapple and walnuts!

 

Oatmeal Tropical Papaya in oatmeal, tropical oatmeal recipe, how to make oatmeal, breakfast, clean eating, weightloss

  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 pinch of himalayan salt
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 medium mango, diced
  • 1/2 medium papaya, diced
  • 2 tsp. unsweetened shredded coconut flakes
  • 1 tbsp. chopped raw walnuts

Bring water and salt to a boil, add rolled oats over medium heat for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and top with rest of the ingredients!

 

Fruit Saladfruit salad, fruit for breakfast, breakfast recipes, clean eating recipes

  • 1 medium kiwifruit, diced
  • 1 cup of fresh pineapple chunks
  • 1 cup of papaya, cubed
  • 2 Tbsp. of Toasted Pumpkin Seeds***
  • 1 tsp of shredded unsweetened coconut flakes

Combine fruits and top with coconut flakes and pumpkin seeds and ENJOY!

***Toasted pumpkin seeds (take 2 cups of raw shelled green pumpkin seeds and spread on cookie sheet- bake on 400 for 5-10 minutes, or until slightly brown)

Breathing: Do you Breath every day…

Breathing is a serious thing for us right? This is how we get our oxygen in our bodies.

Breathing increases the supply of oxygen and nutrients to cells throughout your body, and clears your system of carbon dioxide waste. Proper breathing improves your circulation, calms your nervous system, reduces muscular tension and metal fatigue, eases pressure on your heart, massages and stimulates you internal organs, aids in digestion, and reduces stress. We have all heard “Relax, take a deep breath,” its because it actually works!!!!

Here’s an Exercise to try and help you check the level of your breathing!

  1. Sit up straight, place one hand on your chest and one on your abdomen. As you inhale, notice which hand rises. Your goal is to draw air in past your chest, all the way down into your belly. When you accomplish this, you should feel the hand on your belly rise!
  2. Whether this comes easy for you or takes practice, the point is to become aware of your own breathing pattern and to retrain your body to breathe more deeply into the diaphragm.
  3. Track your progress, when you find yourself slipping into shallow breathing patterns, relax and draw in some long, deep breaths.

How to Deal with Being Sick and Exercise!

So I have been sick for the past 6 days, hence there has been no posts or blogs lately! I do apologize! But I figured what better post to bring me back than to help you understand why you should not exercise while being sick and what to do to deal with it! This is the season for colds and flu- so many will have this issue to face! I hope not, but it may!

I am one that lives to wake up and exercise to get my endorphins running! But when you are sick your bodies immune system is weak, you try to get back by doubling and tripling on Vitamin C and Probiotics (or Shakeology) but it does not help, because you do your normal activities and then you have no energy!

#1: REST, take time to just sleep it off or sit around and not exert yourself!

#2: Stay HYDRATED, keep your body hydrated! Water and herbal tea (Traditional Medicinals is a great brand-organic that is), Warm water with 1/2 lemon squeezed (fresh juice), and 1 tbsp of PURE honey- helps sooth the throat, and some say sports drinks or electrolytes- I would rather x out all sugar!!!! it will dehydrate more and fight you immune system to lower more!

#3: Go to a Doctor, if it is season allergies you are use to that you know that! But if you have hot and cold sweats or a sore throat- you want to find out as soon as possible! Yes there are many natural remedies for something simple as strep throat but when you have an infection you want to take care of it right away!

Now how and when to get back to your workout! Most simple colds and flu take 7 days to run its course… I recommend giving your self 3-4 days after feeling 100% to jump back in! 1 your body is still weak and you may find you become fatigue must faster than before! If you are following a workout DVD you can pick up with the last workout you did or start that week over, It it your call, but you do not have to start the whole program from day 1!

Transform your inner beauty!

Often times we find ourselves worrying about the outside of our body, neglecting the inside! Our health is probably #1 concern for many Americans today! Transform the inner beauty and then the outside!

Did it come from a box, does it have sugar, and is it processed with artificial ingredients or flavoring? If you commented yes to this question then you need to start with the basics of Clean Eating to help you get on track! 80% of our results come from a healthy diet, not diet as in starve yourself, diet as in what you eat daily (5-6x a day!)

 

Next, Make sure your inside are getting the proper amount of Vitamins and Nutrients! How many of you supplement your body with multivitamins everyday? That is fine and most of us need extra vitamins in our system, but if you could supplement 1 meal with your multivitamin and energy drink (or caffeine) would you? Have you ever heard of Shakeology? On your journey you will find alot of people that will put your lifestyle down and be negative, but you need to find that 1 person that will help you stay true to you and your goals! Is that just to push you with your goals, do the workouts with you, or just ask you how you are doing?

Friends are supposed to lift you up, not bring you down! So find that motivational, inspiring friend, that is just going to push you along- praise you for your new lifestyle- and help you along the way!!! Call To Action/ Assignment:

  1. Write Down 5 goals you want to accomplish within the next 30 days!
  2. Break Down those 5 goals into WEEKLY goals on how you will achieve the “big goal” (you should now have 10-25 things listed)
  3. Take those goals and set up to do 5 per day and see how fast you can reach your goals!
  4. Write down 5 names of people you feel are your biggest supporters and ask them to help you stay accountable!
  5. Get into a group text or meet up once a week to stay true to your goals, FOR YOU!

Did you know that you should be drinking 50% of your body weight in ounces of water? Ex. if you weight 150 lbs you should drink 75 ounces of water! Great Right? Well it may be hard for some of you to remember so here are some tips on trying so you can remember to drink enough water throughout the day!

  1. water bottleTake a water bottle and put 1 colored rubber band and the others white or vice versa…. For every bottle you finish move a white band above the colored so you will know how many you have drank and how many more you need to drink!
  2. Buy a water bottle that is large enough to hold 1/2 of what you should be drinking so you know you only need 2!
  3. Drink 8-12 ounces before Every Meal! That would give you roughly 48-72 ounces, plus what you will drink throughout the day!
  4. Start drinking only water- add fruit to it or fresh lemon!
  5. Drink as much as you can and when you start to feel light headed, dizzy, or dry mouth you are DEHYDRATED!!!! Stay hydrated even in the winter!!!!functions-of-water-in-the-body

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Why is water so beneficial to your body? ^^^^^ LOOK UP!

 

How often do you forget to drink enough water before you are starting to feel dehydrated AKA Different!? It happens more than not and that is because some don’t know how much to drink or they just honestly forget!

 

I challenge you to drink 1 gallon of water a day (even if your only to drink 50 ounces) Comment below if you accept my challenge!

Trivial Pursuit: What is the #1 leading cause of Childhood Obesity?

Many parents will say it is a gene that has caused our child to be overweight…. WRONG! It is the unhealthy diet the child has been receiving since day 1… Excessive snacking and insufficient exercise!

Unhealthy Diet:

Children eat what they are given and what their parents eat.. FACT, They eat what they are accustomed too! If you feed your kids fruits and veggies instead of fries and donuts- they will like them! My kids have been eating fruits and veggies since they were babies! Do they eat the occasional french fries and donuts, cake and ice cream of course- they are kids and I would hate for them to go to school and parties and binge eat because they felt deprived! It is all about moderation! once a month or week is different than every meal!

So feed your kids a healthy and balanced diet! Start being a role model! Tosca Reno Eat Clean Recharged is a great book for you to read and learn what a balanced meal consists of!

Lack of Exercise:

Children in the “old days” would be outside all day and night and fight to come in, well the role is reversed now a days! You have to fight your child to get away from the TV, off the computer and away from the video games… GUESS WHOS FAULT IT IS- YOURS, not society!!! If you let your kids have unlimited time on the computer or playing video games- they will take advantage of it!

Play a game with them- go for a walk- freeze tag, dodge ball, hide and seek… these are ways to get them moving and yourself!! if you put a time limit of the electronics (yes the change will be difficult- but necessary!) If they go out side an hour a day, they can have 10 minutes on the electronics for every hour they spend out side! It is our fault as adults and parents for what bad habits our kids pick up! We allow them to role us and show us who is boss… It is time to take control and show them who is boss!

Excessive Snacking:

Once again we as adults have to show the kids who is boss… What is not in the house the kids will not want and will not snack on! If you don’t buy the crap- they wont want the crap! i am sorry but when you have mounds of candy and sugar and salt and chips in the house that is naturally what the kids are going to go for! So buy fruits and veggies, nuts and dried fruit, yogurt and sugar free jello… They will eat what is there- they will want what is in front of them… So stop feeding into what they want and take action and buy the healthy food for them to snack on!

Genetic Factor is only 10% the reason why our kids are what they are today! 80% of their results and weight is due to diet, so if you change the way kids eat and what they eat, you will see a DRAMATIC change in several areas- 1. they will drop weight and look healthy 2. they will feel healthy and have energy to go out side and run around for hours and 3. they will want to eat what their parents are eating- so be the example that your children should want to look up to!
