Cranberries, an ingredient that can be found in many holiday dishes, but also has so many health benefits. Cranberries are part of the heather family and related to blueberries, bilberries, and lingonberries. Cranberries are very versatile but rarely eaten raw due to their sour taste. Cranberries are full of healthy vitamins and plant compounds that have been known to be effective against urinary tract infections. Cranberries are 90% water, but the rest is carbs and fiber. Cranberries also contain antioxidants that are beneficial for heart health.
