Today is National Trail Mix Day and I love making my own trail mix!! Trail mix can have a variety of ingredients… What do you like in your trail mix? I usually include nuts, dried fruits, maybe some dark chocolate pieces. The question is… are all the ingredients in trail mix healthy for you? We know that nuts are good fats and dark chocolate is high in antioxidants, but what about the dried fruits. I mean they are fruits so they must be healthy for you, right? “Dried fruit is healthier than an ultra-processed Twinkie, but it can contain similar amounts — if not more — sugar than the cloying snack foods many of us crave.” Check out the link below to find out if fresh fruits are healthier for you than dried fruits.
