A February produce item that might not be the favorite in the garden, but it packs a lot of nutrients and are very good for you. Radishes are a root vegetable and come in many varieties that are available from winter through summer depending on the kind. Radishes can be pink, white, black, or purple in color, and can be eaten raw, cooked, or pickled. ½ cup of radishes are 12 calories and hardly any fat, so they are a perfect low calorie snack or a great addition to a salad.
