Another October produce spotlight… Beets!! Beets are a veggie that I don’t think gets a lot of attention. Beets are an acquired taste, but with the right recipe I bet you may actually enjoy them and all their wonderful health benefits!! The lack of recipes is why I don’t use them much other than cut up in a salad, but there happens to be a lot of beet recipes out there… I will share one later today. Beets are a wonderful source of dietary fiber with no fat, which makes them excellent for detoxing and losing weight. Beets also boosts strength, improves digestion and sexual health, lowers blood pressure, and boosts brain health to name just a few. Beets are also referred to as beetroot and blood turnips.
